SARA Folk Art Painting Competition: Celebrating Heritage and Women Empowerment
On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025, SARA Gandevikar Jewellers and Delight & Divine Charitable Trust organised the inspiring SARA Folk Art Painting Competition, celebrating the creativity, talent, and cultural expression of women artists.
The event beautifully showcased India’s rich artistic heritage through traditional folk art forms like Madhubani, Gond Art, and Mata ni Pachhedi, while encouraging women to express their stories, traditions, and creativity through art.

International Women’s Day is a celebration of strength, resilience, and achievement. Through this competition, SARA created a meaningful platform where women artists could showcase their talent while preserving India’s traditional art forms.

Celebrating Indian Folk Art Traditions
The competition highlighted three beautiful Indian folk art forms — Madhubani, Gond Art, and Mata ni Pachhedi — each carrying deep cultural roots and artistic significance.
Competition Categories
Madhubani Art
Originating from Bihar, Madhubani art is known for its intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and storytelling style. Participants beautifully represented mythology, nature, and feminine strength through detailed artwork.
Gond Art
Gond Art, rooted in the Gond tribe of Madhya Pradesh, captivated visitors with bold lines, colourful detailing, and strong connections to nature and tribal traditions.
Mata ni Pachhedi
This traditional Gujarati folk art form featured divine storytelling, religious symbolism, and intricate depictions of deities and folk culture.
Women Empowerment
Encouraging women artists to showcase creativity, talent, and cultural expression.

The competition was judged by respected artists and educators Ketki Ainapuere and Kashyap Parikh, who evaluated the creativity, artistic skills, and cultural expression showcased by participants.
